Street Signage
| The National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD) has unanimously approved an increase in the minimum letter height of street name signs to at least 6" capital and 4-1/2" lower case letters. In order to accommodate new minimum letter heights, street name blades need to be 9" tall. The committee has also recommended that street name signs be reflective.
Sign International's standard street name signs can be manufactured on either .080 flat blades (D3-1X). The copy will be upper and lower case letters as shown in Style 1 on the next page with white letters on a green background. Our standard street name signs are double faced and made with engineer grade reflective sheeting.
One 4-way unit for two intersecting streets requires:
- Two double faced signs
- One cap to fit round or u-channel post
- One 90 degrees to separate signs
- One 2-3/8" O.D. round post or u-channel post
